AOD Shifter

I need to find a OAD shifter for my 49 F1. Any ideas?

Most Mustangs had a nice floor shifter with cable for the AOD

Aftermarket

I went with the Lokar classic which I'm very happy with. Did consider Mustang shifter but orientation of it changed my mind

My F-1 had 3 on the tree so I used that to shift the AOD.

I have installed a few of the lokars in trucks I have restored and they work well. You can use pretty much any aftermarket 3 speed auto shifter as long as you install the B&M shift shaft lever. I have used the B&M hammer in my mustang and was not a fan. The Hurst VMatic that I have in it now is MUCH BETTER!

Exactly what I did in my '54 F100...I used the "lower" gate (2-3) and set it up to work correctly. I had to fabricate an arm on the trans, but it was pretty straight forward.

Did the same on my '51 F1 Panel years ago, but with a C6.
