I have an XLT without the message center. Do i have the manual temperature setting for when the remote starter is used? It has not worked either way as far as i can tell but it has also been very mild temps in illinois at 55-65 in the morning.
If i do have it, is it a setting i must engage somehow? I looked in the manual but could not seem to find anything.
For the standard dash all you should need to do is leave the settings where you want them and the next time the truck is turned on it should resume with that setting unless Im miss understanding the question. I believe the same applies for the dual zone dash. Your owners manual will describe the optional HVAC controls for comparison with visuals.
According to my manual -
for hot conditions, the A/C will run at max
for cold conditions, the heater will run at max in floor/defrost mode and the electrical defrosters will be on too.
For mild conditions, the A/C will be on, the heat will be on, or the system will be off completely based on the last key cycle.
Sounds to me like, if you run the A/C then turn the key off, then use the remote start, the A/C should come on max.
ok-thanks! I was hoping its just because its not cold enough/hot enough to come on by itself.
In cold weather, it seems to wait until the engine is warm enough so that it's not blowing cold air. I leave mine set on defrost at 80 on high blower, but it won't actually do that until the truck has run for maybe five minutes or so
