Intake question

I tried searching, but couldn't find anything. I have a '97 F-150 with the 5.4L and I have a plastic line coming off of my intake that I don't know where it is supposed to go. I don't know how or when it got disconnected, but I can't seem to find anything within reach of it that it can connect to.

There should be a connection on top of the driver side valve cover. It connects the valve cover to the intake tube.

you need fresh air from the air cleaner into the valve cover to makeup the air/ fumes that are sucked out of the motor thru the PCV valve into the intake manifold. The PCV valve should be on one bank valve cover, and normally the intake air will be on the other side.
