I have a 97 F250 Super Duty extra cab with short bed. When I got the truck, spare tire in back of bed. I want to mount back under the bed. What hardware required and where do you recommend I purchase?
Start looking at junk yards. Those trucks had the metal bar with long bolts hanging off the frame I do believe. You may want to see if you could modify a crank style holder from any make of truck.
Yeah, score one from a junkyard. My idiot brother has a flat, changed it, put the flat on the little lifting platform, then started driving again [without winching it up]. Drove it so far on pavement that both the rim and the lifting platform were worn down.
Scored both a replacement rim and lifting mechanism from the junkyard [only 2 bolts], little bit of dry lube on the mechanism and it works perfect.
You should also get the handle as well. There are three clips under the hood of my '97 F150 for it to snap into between uses.
Doh, you have an F250. Probably not similar to my setup.
