My brake pedal was going down a lot so I looked and saw that the right rear wheel cylinder must be leaking. I replaced it yesterday. I used a speed bleeder valve to bleed it.
driving the car I see that the brake went way down. IF I pumped the brakes that helped a little.
I checked the reservoir and noticed the front part of the master cylinder was low. It is my impression that this is the reservoir for rear brakes. I topped it off.
Drove it again and not much change but now when I pump it the stopping power is much better.
Thanks, I guess After I centralize, I need to bleed the brakes again. All wheel or just the one I repaired.
Bleed the entire system.
DOT 3, 4 and 5.1 brake fluid is only good for 18-24 months before it needs to be changed. Old brake fluid gets saturated with moisture which degrades stopping ability and it corrodes brake components, causes them to fail and causes the brake valve to get gummed up and stick.
