Someone tried to steal my stock 6 Disc CD Changer in my 1997 Ford F150 XLT Extended Cab and in the process, they only managed to completely destroy the front of it. They didn't manage to get it out. Now I need to remove it to replace it with a used factory changer I bought to go in its place.
So anyone that may know how to get that stock cd-changer out (mounted in the drivers side armrest of the rear extended cab section), it would be GREATLY Appreciated!
Start by removing the rear seat back. Then remove the upper trim panel and then the lower trim panel. Be sure to save all screws, plastic retainers for reinstallation. The upper anchors to the seat belts will have to be unbolted as well as the retainer screws for the window latch on the quarter window. Then there are two screws on the upper portion of the changer bracket and two nuts at the bottom. Remove them all and pull the changer and bracket assembly out and disconnect the audio connector from the back side. The changer is secured to the bracket assembly with about 6 screws. Reverse order to reinstall. This is about an hour and a half work at home.
