In an earlier statement I complained that I did not have daylight running lights. They would come on and then go out.
With new schematics I find that a light sensor under the dash top oval plate senses light and turns the lamps off. As darkness begins ity will turn on your head lamps if you have the lights in auto. Perhaps I do not have daylight running lamps even if it seems to have some things labled as such. When it's dark the auto appears to work fine. I still have to study and check out running lights etc. Thanks to those who did respond and if any one has any more input please reply. thanks WS
Yeah, if your truck was made in KC or Norfolk it probably does not have DRL. (If your VIN begins with 1, that's the case). Mine was made in Oakville, ONT., and although it was made for USA, it does have the relays (only) for DRL. They don't appear to serve any function, and I'm surprised Ford would waste the cost of them, but maybe its easier if others on the line need them.
The Ford dealer installed DRL is available separately, or as a feature of the autolight package. The later is what I have. It does not use the existing relays.
