CD changer reading "mag empty"

I have a 2001 Expy EB with a 6 disc changer, all factory stock. The changer just recently began to not work. It attempts to load the cd then the next then so on til it goes through all six. Once complete it reads the mag is empty when its not. Any suggestions?

i have an old stereo that has a five disk changer, and the motor that spins the cds is broke so the laser cannot detect the cd. either that or your tray motor could be dead. Kind of hard to tell. Before considering replacing it you might want to try and clean the electrical connections between the changer to make sure your getting clean connections.
