Is threw a minimum oil level that these engines will run off of? Is been 10k since my last oil change and I running full synthetic oils. Rotella T5. Motorcraft filter and cap. Financial situation dictated that I had to let it go. Can I trust this engine for another 1500 miles?
All i Remember is its the full synthetic. I havent got the money to change it til next week. I have a warranty on the engine and the shop that I use said if it goes he will fix it. They fixed the Oil cooler and paid for an EGR delete.

I once pawned a $125 pocket knife for $20 to get something to eat and slept in a car for two weeks. I understand having no money, but this post is blowing my mind. Seems to be two questions, first is "what is the minimum level."- there is a lot of oil in the engine but I would say the level should be showing on the dipstick. (Really? You're prepared to run this truck that low on oil?) The second is "there's 10k miles on the oil in the truck now, think I can get to 11,500 mi without it blowing up?"- probably, but I suspect wear will be higher during those miles. The part about "can I trust this engine...?" wow...
Ok, so let's say you're currently running cross country from loan sharks who will shoot you on sight and when it comes to funds, its a choice between fuel or oil. The level is more important than the miles. Save the $$ from the oil change but keep the oil level on the stick, halfway up the checkered part would be better.

Your truck will not blow up tomorrow, but the long term damage could be costly. The least you can do is keep the oil in the safe range on the dip stick. Like KDavid said the oil does more than lubricate your engine
DO NOT use synthetic oil if you can not afford to change it. Reg oil of the correct type changed every 5,000 mile is better than syn every 10,000 miles.
Usually before I go calling rat on somebody, I take a look up in the corner and see how long/how many posts the person has. That's quite an effort to join in 2010 and have 4300+ posts....
