Replacing mechanical diode on 4R100
Hi folks, I'm new on FTE and I need urgent help. I'm living in Austria and nobody here have enough knowledge to fix the problem on my 4R100 transmission that's why I'm asking for your help. Now to the story: unfortunately my 02/2001 Lightning was built with the mechanical diode and now with 52000 k kicked the bucket. Problem: I don't know which DIRECT DRUM should I buy, I've found "EARLY" 4 clutch models with the notches for the Nr.7 thrust washer, I've found "LATE" 4 clutch models W/O the notches and 5 clutch models W/O notches (I guess they are "LATE" models) but those should be ONLY for diesel models. What you Guys mean can I use a 5 clutch direct drum in my tran? I also want to buy an intermediate clutch kit with 4 Alto Red Eagle Friction plates (.078"), 4 Alto Kolene Steel plates (.080") and 1 Backing plate (.326") and the Borg Warner 45 element intermediate sprag.
