weight carrying ability

Hi,
First time post. I have a 77' F250 Ranger (my baby!) and though I pretty much know it like the back of my hand, I cannot find information telling me the weight carrying ability (i.e. camper weight). It's the longbed, has the 460 w/c6 trans and 4:10 rear. Trans and oiler cooler (factory) w/ AC. Big Radiator. Can anyone direct me to where I can find better information than I have?

Thanks so much! Gotta love those ol' Fords!

There should be a vehicle rating tag on the driver's door jamb.

I'll bet it's 8100 lb GVW. Does it have the F-350 spindles up front and the heavier brakes?

Thanks for the response. There is the tag on the door jamb. but unfortunately it was damaged at one time and unreadable now (at least the weight part) I do not know how to tell if it has the F350 spindles on front either. That is why I am looking for a website, or ? to find out the GVWR with the known equipment it has. I know that sales info. usually has a section that states this. I have an original sales brochure but cannot locate something that has this info. I want to buy a camper that has a weight of approx. 2,900 lbs, fully loaded. I anticipate that I will either need overloads or airshocks.

Thanks again,
Dak

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate the responses! It appears that I do in fact have the camper special package, with only the exception of the emblem on the side of the truck.

Thanks again!

Dak
