help needed on installing tailgate cap
Hi all I have a 2011 F250 and I broke the cap on my tailgate , mine has the step hidden under it . I cant seem to find any diagram's of how it goes ( there is a spring that goes somewhere ) . thanks for any help you can give me . Oh and from a new 5th wheel owner to other new 5er owners , don't forget to put the tailgate down when you unhitch .

Did you find out how to change the cover? also Where did you get the part. I cracked my cover and have to get another one and replace it.
Any help on where to get one and how to change it would be appreciated

I bought mine at Ford. Was 116 but it fit perfectly. The two cheap knockoffs from amazon were not close. Even though I got my money back it was a pain.
I installed the cap fine, just dont know how to install the springs.
To install the cap, Pull the step out a bit, put the cap bottom end first (the opposite end of the 2 slide pins) then rotate into place. Install the 2 long slide pins
until they reach the clip that they clip into. Piece of cake. I just dont know where the springs hook to. Been looking for diagrams
