King Ranch seats

Has anyone done a swap installing '08 King Ranch bucket seats and console in a '80-'85 F150?

Working on a restomod '82 F150 long wheel base plain jane work truck and the guy bought King Ranch bucket seats he wants to install along with a 5.0 coyote motor.

Problem is I set the seats in Friday and found out they are way too tall and I am sure the guy wants the features to work on the seat. I feel the only option is to hack out his newely installed floor pans and make the floor flat to lower the seat a good three to four inches.

Boss acted like we would send it out to a chassis building shop to do the work. That is fine with me as I don't get paid enough to do that kind of work.

I'm not familiar with the newer seat mounts,but....could the mounts/brackets be sectioned and re-welded to compensate?

Not without removal of all the electric motors for the seats. The height is just barely enough to mount the seat and store everything under it for all the features the seats have.

Just have to wait and see if we can convince him to get seats that would be more of a bolt in.

This guy believes everything is just bolting it in. He even said whats the hold up you just drop my motor in talking about the 5.0 coyote motor he bought for his '82.

Hell when we told him there is no power steering pump on this motor he was going to call the guy up raising hell. No they don't come with pumps they are electric assist steering. Well just take the old pump off my old truck. Oh yea sure that will bolt right on.
