Replacing Front and Back Seats

Hello to all, I'm trying to replace the original seats in my 1997 F-350 Crew Cab. The front and back seats are bench type and in very bad condition. I would like to replace the front seat with the 40/20/40 buckets and console if possible and the rear seat with a nice bench seat. Will 40/20/40 front seats require new holes to be drilled in the cab floor or will the seat mounts bolt into the old bench seat holes? Can I use seats out F-250's or just F-350's? What years seats could I use as replacements? I bought some seats out of a F-350 Lariat (year unknown) but the mounts or brackets do not match the floor pan. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
James

Any seat from a 150, 250, 350 years 91-97 will fit. The bench seat only has two tracks (one on each side)The bucket seats with console has four tracks (two per seat) and I think that the 40/20/40 has four tracks also (could be mistaken).

The easiest way to install seats is to find ones that you like, make sure that they will fit (lenght) then place them in your truck and mark and drill any holes that are needed to mount them, and use bolts, fender washers, and lock nuts to bolt them down.

I know people that have put King Ranch seats in an OBS.

I think coonhunterjoe put 40-20-40 in his truck and IIRC he had to redrill holes but they shure look nice. Hope this helps.

I think the interchangeability goes back to 1986. I swapped seats with an 86 and a 93 once in my old 91.

We are about to install air seats from the local IH dealer in both our trucks. They have a leather set there now that looks real close to the ones in the new KIng Ranch Ford that would go perfect in my wifes truck and a gray leather set that would look perfect in mine. BOth are air adjustable for height, lumbar and the ones in the seat bottom and also have warmers. They were about 700 a piece but well worth it I think for long trips. I'm going to modify the frame on the floor to accept them if I have to and build custom cherry wood consoles to house the gauges, back up cameras, trailer cams and of course drink holders between the seats.

I already made new cherry shifter boot bezels for my truck and I"m working on the dash and door trim now in Cherry wood.
