For the most part my truck is rust free. But it's odd certain things have rust on them. I found the rust under the cab today that's not savable has anyone tried to replace these?
I was hoping I'd be able to get sections from a parts truck an just cut the bad out an weld in the new parts.
To be honest, unless I'm missing something in the pictures or it's a show truck, I'd just hit it with this kit. SUPER STARTER KIT - Black . These products are available in spray cans also but I think the brush on would be better for getting inside that top area. I've used it several times over the years and it works very good.
I work at my familys body shop to cut them off another truck isbgona bend them all up drill out the spot welds and flue them in after you sand and coat your replacement ones you grind where you would have the spot welds on both rhe truck and the parts smear the glue they wont rust 3m had a whole line of awsome glues pannel structural ect all for body shops we have done both esp when doing bed sides weld burns the epoxy or what ever they use tocoat under and inside parts when building them. you end up with rust then rot/cancer peope might say im nuts but if you only knew how much glue is used building cars today. I live in central pa be glad to help ya out if your close tools glue ect good luck
The metal doesn't look like all integrity is lost. POR 15 is like magic, and if too far gone i assume you know the only option is to leave it and let the cancer spread or get it cut out and replaced and prepped with por 15 anyways
