Ok, I actually watch more or less the 2nd video in full. It was pretty interesting. I'm sure if you wanted to you could pick it apart but in theory it has the working idea of whats happening. My 5th has the built in flush and I use it after I dump the tank and it is something how must "stuff" comes out.
....especially the TP! But I have noticed a GREAT difference that how much LESS TP is stuck to the sides of the tank now that the water softener has made the sides so slick!

When I'm dumping I start the the flush before I open the valve, I think it gets things stirred up plus it gets more water in there to help getting the waste moving. My flush system has a tube running the length of the tank with multiple outlets and I think it does a good job but I've never looked in there. I didn't watch the whole video it looked like a long winded sales pitch.
Inspired me to go back to water softener crystals or the like. Not sure if he does that test too?
I also have the San I Tee flush system and I run it while flushing and then, close off the valve several times to get that additional flush (providing there isn't a line, waiting behind me and staring).
I have also used cooking oil at times and that seems to lube the valve assemblies a bit.

X2 There will always be a box of water softener in our trailer after trying it out this weekend. Quite amazing how clear the tank is when used with laundry detergent. This will be our waste tank MO for all future trips.
Bud thanks for the tip. I'm a full timer, at times the odor makes me empty the tank prematurely. I also run a flush King. Had to get one, I open the valve and nothing came out. Now the cable to the black tank broke. ( something broke, cable, the connection I haven't looked at it yet. It's a pita with a basement cover )

Cut the underbelly material with a razor knife. When finished with your repair patch the cut with underbelly tape

If you are getting odors between dumps check and make sure your toilet is holding water, if not get a kit to repair it.
I like that tape idea, it gets good reviews. Yes, Denny the tank is holding water. And Steve I'm sure your right. Either at the valve or the handle behind the wall. That handle has always been a chore to close. The cable may be binding some where. Thanks guys!

I didn't mean the tank but the toilet itself if you are getting a smell inside the rig.
The tape works great. Just wipe down the area with rubbing alcohol before you apply it. It's a bugger to get the release film off if it's cold. Once on, won't come off. Good luck and please update with your findings!
I have the same problem as the original poster. A bad seal that lets liquid leak off. I try to keep about twenty gallons in the tank to keep the pipe full and use an external twist on valve.
The biggest mistake full timers and long-term campers make is to leave open the black water valve while in an RV Park. You "MUST" leave it closed and dump it when it gets over 2/3 full, but never let it just drain or you will get a 50 gallon cake of fertilizer. I have three 100 gallon tanks in my big 5th wheel and I lived in it full time for three years. I learned the routine of use/hold/dump. for the black water the hard way.
