7.3 block question
i was wondering what the difference was between a 97 7.3 block and a 02 block. They look exactly the same to me. i have a cracked block 0n my 02 and have a 97 block in the shop was wanting to put all my stuff in that block but heard it wouldnt work and heard that it would. so trying to find out.

You can use the 97 block, but there are differences between the two. The blocks had several features "improved" from 97-99. Go here Coffee Table Books
and read the "98-99.5 DIT" coffee table book. It points out several improvements to the engine and block that were made.
Pay special attention to page 7 & 39!
