It all depends what you want to do with this engine. It is stripped and the block is cracked leaking coolant. When I purchased my truck with a cracked block, I went looking for a replacement. Everything that had Powerstoke name attached to it was a fortune. I went looking for a Navistar block and then people asked why would you want this for? Cause from 97 up it's the same block and doesn't have the Powerstroke $$$ atached to it. There are alot of old school bus engines out there that are alot cheaper than a Powerstroke if you need a block. The only differences for the Powerstroke block is the fuel pump hole in the V of the engine is plugged and #8 cylinder hole is honed a little larger because it runs hotter than a bus engine. I'm a firm believer that once a block is cracked it will always be a problem, unless you what it for a puller and fill all the coolant cavities. My .02

If ya needed heads it might be worth a couple $100. Most likely its a PMR motor, otherwise the rods are worth a couple $100.
If they are including the injectors, HPOP, turbo, etc - everything that made it 'run like a perfect 10' (Lol) - that's a fair deal. Its a deceptive ad IMHO.

Btw, I want the dual AC from this one. Can you say 'on-board air'?? (compressed air that is...)
This is the typical price I see for 'complete' engines here in the southeast...
The problem I have with this price, is that's about what parts and machine shop costs are to rebuild a good longblock. It seems silly to spend that much on an 'old' engine when you could rebuild yours and have a FRESH mill for similar $$$. As long as ya don't have a windowed block (or car accident
) - build what ya got!!!

94-96 blocks do not have the reinforced push rod cavity webs where as the 97-03 blocks have the reinforced push rod cavity webs.
