My brother just bought a 68 IH Scout II with a 304 in it. Now I don't recall IH ever making a small block. Am I right, or is this engine a small block?
It's a small dispacement engine, not sure if I'd qualify it as a small block. Pontiac's 301 is bigger than a chebbie 350 but it's been called a smallblock.
304, 345, 392 all the same block from Cornbinder. All will hold your boat in place equally well.
Small block vs. big block has been beaten to death here.....
Not quite true, the 345 and the 392 has a taller deck because they have a longer stroke. Many parts to crossover though. I would also like to see another companys engines, ford or other, last as long as Internationals engines do.
