Yeah raptors are overpriced, but they sell like hot cakes round here. Not sure about other parts of the country as it is supposed to be a desert designed rig.
The first vipers do look kinda odd. Not as aggressive as the later styles. And the first gen wheels just ruined them IMO.

Concur on the Gen 1s.. the nose is a bit too bulbous and the body panels and body lines don't flow as well as the 2002 and up.
There's a few raptors in my parts... mostly contractors who can write it off their taxes. There a couple of guys in my subdivision with Raptors... one with HD bumpers, a winch, and stuff. I blip the LBBs throttle when I pass his house.
Yes 400k and up... whoever gets #001 is gonna pay a premium for the first production number.
I wonder about these horsepower numbers that are advertised. Methinks they are fishy. Some of you graybeards will remember Ford's 271 hp claim on the 289s in the mid-sixties.
It turns out that VW and others do such stuff as remove mirrors, tape door and hood meeting points, overheat, remove all accessories, use special oils... for their phony mpg runs. Like Pike's Peak downhill Mobile Economy runs.
Does anyone know how the modern horsepower numbers are measured?
The Cobra's open cockpit made it 10 seconds per lap slower than the Ferraris at Le Mans. Carroll Shelby had Pete Brock design an aerodynamic version of the AC Cobra in 1964. It was called the Daytona Coupe (since its debut was at Daytona, Florida) and it was 20 MPH faster, on the 3 mile long Mulssane straight at Le Mans, than the AC Cobra. There were only six Daytona Coupes produced by Shelby. The Daytona took the GT Championship title in 1965.
All six Shelby built Daytona Coupes gathered at the 2015 Goodwood Revival race circuit in the UK.
Daytona Coupe and GT40 video (not at Goodwood Circuit).
BTW, I did sit down with that Frontline and a Alec Bradley "White Gold" cigar. The only mention of the 2016 Ford GT is the announcement that it and Ford are returning to Lemans to race in the 2016 race!
For you fellow stogie smokers out there I strongly suggest trying one of those White Golds. The one I smoked was prolly about a 48 X 5.Starts out good. Doesn't have to come in. Thick billowing smoke like I like. Medium to strong. Notes of cream, pipe smoke, and a hint of grape. I could do without the grape but it was still good. I was confused if I wanted to smoke it or eat it!

I smoke some of the Alex Bradley lower end cigars when I am working on the trucks. Kind of switching to Te-Amo. But I am no officiando.
It's no coincidence since Carroll Shelby was involved with both cars but the Gen I's were penned by Tom Gale, an American. I'm sure Carroll was looking over Tom's shoulder.
I've been thinking of vanity plates...:
HMOTXIC.. hemotoxic
ASP...... as in an asp (a small viper found around the Mediterranean). Fabled that Cleopatra used one to commit suicide.
NTRVNUS... intravenous
4 FANGS... four fangs
1S BTTN... once bitten
2X BTTN ... twice bitten
How about nt4njnk Lol I kid you not I saw a hellcat with that plate in NY and the very next car was a gtr plate read 4njunk I'm guessing they were friends or brothers
Hio, regarding DMV, I tried PASNGAS AND FONEBTH on my '34 Pickup. They refused both, the first because it was "obscene" and the second because they didn't understand I was driving a phone booth 3-window. I told them that I got good fuel economy with the rod so I passed a lot of gas pumps.
No deal. I tried a half dozen more but they were on to me and wouldn't give me anything.
The classic is FKNXN which came out of the early '70's.
