I have 1973 F350 Super camper special. After installing new master cylinder, rotors, calibers, pads, brake hoses, the front brakes lock up after they are bleed. Could this be caused by the disc brake proportioning valve? (see attached) Where do you get a replacement? I have never seen both calibers lock up. Only seen one which is usually caused by a bad break hose.

I'm guessing that you have a power brake booster (?). If it and/or the MC were recently changed, the output rod between the booster and the MC may be adjusted too far out.
If so, this would keep the brakes partially applied at all times, even when you aren't pressing down on the brake pedal. It will also make it very difficult to get all the air out of the system, since the pistons inside the MC will not be able to fully retract even after you take your foot off the brake pedal.
There should be between .005"-.010" clearance (freeplay) between the tip of the booster output rod to the MC.
I also have 1973 350 scs. As in other post brake rotors are not available anymore. Any suggestions.
Thanks,
Ed
I also have a 73 super camper. I tried sending you a pm so this original post didn't get hijacked . Sorry about that. I had the parts department where I work order all my brake parts. He got me prices on rotors I didn't need them. But he says Napa sells them. I never held them and looked at them but my parts department is pretty good
Sorry man. I'm going too give the parts department sh$& . He swore they had them. Please let me know when and where you find some. Now I'm going too start looking just so I know too. Good luck now I feel like a Jack a#@
