Pressure differential valve

I am looking the frame mounted brake splitter fitting (2B257) as shown at the bottom of the illustration.

Part number should be C8TZ-2B257-E. It is called a pressure differential valve, for use with dual m/c, 4-wheel drum applications as found on '67-'72, split hydraulic F100/350's.

I believe it is just a threaded connector block, and not really a proportioning valve, although I am not 100% sure.

I have checked a few obsolete sources, but I am having no luck. Hopefully ND may give me a couple of leads or if a member has one available for purchase, I would be interested.

Where did you come up with this part number? It's in-correct....which is the reason no one has any.

It is called a brake differential proportioning valve, for use with dual m/c, 4-wheel drum applications as found on '67 -'72, split hydraulic F100/350's.
Most of the following info is found here: 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog / Text / Section 22, Page 32.

2B257 = Brake Differential Proportioning Valve. 1967/72 F100/350: There are SEVEN different types!

Three of them are 1967 only. *

C7TZ2B257B = F100 4WD (also 1967 Bronco).

C7TZ2B257D = F250 4WD.

C7TZ2B257E = F100/250 2WD & F350 w/split hydraulic brakes.
-------------------------------------------------------------
1968/72: There are FOUR different types:

C8TZ2B257D = F100/250 2WD & F350 w/split hydraulic brakes.

C8TZ2B257B = F100 4WD (also fits 1973/75's & 1968/74 Bronco).

C8TZ2B257G = F250/350 w/disc brakes (also fits 1973's).

C8TZ2B257C = F250 4WD (also fits 1973/75's).

Which one of the above do you want?

* Be aware that in addition, 1967's use one year only master and brake boosters. The brake & clutch pedals, bracket they hang from under the dash...and the firewall is 1967 only.

And...the plastic low brake fluid warning light switch that threads into the proportioning valve is 1967 only (C7AZ2B264A). 1968/79 is the same (C8AZ2B264A).

Bill the ND,

I am getting parts to change from manual drum to power drum brakes from one of our FTE members for my '66 F100, 2WD.

He will be sending the dual M/C, booster and booster bracket and bolts, but unfortunately, he needed to keep the proportioning valve for another project, thus my quest for the valve (or connector fitting) to split up front/rear, while retaining drums.

Number should have been C8TZ-2B257-D. I wrote down both the '67 and the '68 and newer number. Not that it means I know the difference between a '67 only part, but the later one fits more models = best guess.

From what year and series?

I ran the C8TZ2B257D valve on the in-house Ford Dealer Parts Locator System...no one has any.

The obsolete parts vendors parts locator system (also used by some Ford dealers) isn't working...why I dunno.

When it wakes up, I'll run the number and edit the info into this post.

EDIT: It just came back online...No one has any.

EDIT, part II: One obsolete parts vendor shows C7TZ2B257E .. but it only (according to the parts catalog) fits 1967's.

COLLECTORS AUTO SUPPLY in Oroville WA has it = 800-414-4462. Note: Members have told me that this place promises to call ppl back, but does not, and...

The ppl that answer the phone are overbearing grouches (AFAIK,...they are not any of my relatives! ).

Brake Valve

Try Master Power Brake. I bought a boosted dual chamber MC with valve for a drum/drum setup a couple of years ago and their stuff works. Do a google for them.
