I just bought this 1991 E150 XLT Club Wagon. It has 140k on it, original 4.9 I-6 with an E4OD that was rebuilt at 135k. 15x 10.5 rims with 31" Yokohamas, New Bilstein 5100s, Moog Coils front and read for about 1" of lift.
The front end has just had a lot of work, including tie rod ends, king pins, wheel bearings, Bushings, etc... The rear diff was replaced with a limited slip 3.73.
Probably the cleanest used car I have ever had. The interior is pristine, with he only modification being the Alpine Stereo. Ive put about 3,000 miles on it so far and It hasn't burned a drop of oil. The speedo is way off compared to my GPS, but my estimate with the 10% correction still gives me close to 18 MPG in mixed driving, around town, highways, and some dirt roads. Im about to head up to Canada with 3 adults and a pile of personal junk, so we will see how it does on a freeway with the cruise control and AC running.
He gave me records for every oil change, every plug replacement, every thing that was ever done to the Van, and its amazing. I love to change stuff around, and I can't find anything left undone on this thing. I'm going to install an alarm with remote locks in the side and rear barn doors, and thats about it. This thing is awesome.
Not sure how to remove the strap handles on the barn door so I can remove the door panels. It looks like the strap has a bolt under the plasti-chrome cover. I don't want to brea the cover thing. Do I just pry it off? Does the black plastic thing cover the screw? Maybe it slips to one side or another... I don't know.
Also, I think for camping/road tripping, I will want additional battery power and additional interior lighting. Anyone have experience with adding a "house" battery with an isolator to run interior lights and stereo? I imagine its pretty easy to install, and a good AGM should hold up for long enough to do what I need, especially if I have a separate starting battery. I can run a small inverter with the engine running to work the coffee grinder in the morning!

Welcome to FTE----we loves us some vans here, all variations etc.
The screws holding your panel to the door shell are indeed under the rectangular plastic covers, the heads further covered by the little pieces in the center of those covers. There are two prongs or clips on left and right side fitting into the larger cover, using a knife blade you only have to GENTLY pry one side loose and the other should come out easy.
There should be a #3 Phillips head screw through the door trim panel that is threaded into the metal door shell. When tight they are firmly attached to the door so you can use the handle as a proper door pull.

Saw this after my other reply-----sending you a PM how to address your house battery addition---should prove to be helpful for that upgrade.
