Nancy Drew and the Mystery of the P1715 Tranny code **Fixed**
Well driving around today truck started slipping a little more than normal so I pulled into a church downtown. I checked the fluids again and everything was fine as it has been so I left it to sit and walked around for 45 minutes or so before I drove home. Get back to the truck and there is a CEL... I whip out my scanner and this is what I got. Called Livinglarge and Stewart and decided just to drive it home. I planned on doing the tranny filter as soon as I got home but now not sure if I should if I'm going to have to drop the pan again soon. Soooooooo....thoughts?

Mark, turbine sensor? Now I'm confused. All the OBD II code sheets I have show the P1715 as a "Shift Solenoid B Inductive Signature Error" Or is the word "turbine" refer to a part in the transmission?

HA!!!! I just searched and it IS!!! https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...sometimes.html
Also I forgot to add that my turn signal flashers are no longer flashing. they just come on and stay on. The hazards flash and the canceler in the steering wheel works but when I turn on the signal the lights and dash light just come on and stay on and don't blink.

The ONLY way this code can set is when shift solenoid B sticks. It can stick one time and work the next. If it sticks enough times the code sets. Usually replacing the shift solenoids is the way to fix this.
The shift solenoids are inside the pan. The trans does not have to come out to change them.

That's usually a burned out bulb.

So I just got liking it happened at the exact same time making me think that it had something to do with the transmission. It seemed highly unlikely that the turn signals were affected by the transmission but then again with the OBD two port also being connected to the cigarette lighter fuse you never know.
