89 E250 striker bolt bushing

I have a 1989 Ford E-250 with a worn out rear door plastic striker bolt bushing. Does anyone have a fix or know of a source? TIA

On my 90 TC, the PO used a piece of pvc pipe cut to the right length..

acording to Ford -- <table><tbody><tr><td>

</td></tr></tbody></table>Ford Part No.: E9AZ-5422008-A Striker - Door Locking Mechanism

also might look here but it is a package of 50

Amazon also shows that part under a different number, looks about the same:
Amazon.com: Ford 6W1Z-5422008-A - STRIKER - DOOR LOCKI: Automotive Amazon.com: Ford 6W1Z-5422008-A - STRIKER - DOOR LOCKI: Automotive

BTW that was found by entering the Ford part number Annaleigh shared into a Google search.

I need some bushings for my van and my moms van as all the doors rattle and they have no bushings left! I would need 8 total so I am going to make my own..
According to the parts list the bushings are 1/2 I.D. 11/16 O.D.
You can buy short pieces of pvc or pex pipe at the local builders supply.
this link gives you the od and id of common pipe
http://www.nomacoinsulation.com/pdf/...A32%200909.pdf

I know 1/2 id pipe slides right over the door lock bolt.. SO the OD is what needs to be matched..
1/2 PVC has too large of an od.. = .840
1/2 PEX is just a bit under 11/16 = .625 but that is what was used on my lincoln and the doors close great.

3/8 PVC measures .675,,, that is between 21/32 and 11/16,,, that is just 1/32 smaller and the 3/8 PVC could easily be driller out to 1/2

this is providing that my math is right!!

opps my math is wrong! The difference between 21/32 and 11/16 would be around 1/64th i think!

I used the PEX tubing you can buy at Home Depot to make bushings for my Town Car. Amazing what a difference the bushings make.

I ended up using 1/2" PVC water pipe, but had to ream it out with a 1/2" drill bit. It's working fine. Thanks again for all the ideas & suggestions.

Glad you got it done and thanks for letting us know how it worked. Your bolt must be slightly bigger then 1/2". I will have to get busy and do mine now!

one thought.. you know your lock twice, you know the first lock and then you push a bit more and the door locks tight? The OD of 1/2 PVC according to the chart is .840 and that would be 21/25.. The Ford replacement bushing is 11/16.. 21/25 is quite a bit larger for the lock lock around.....

Only know it's working well, maybe due to wear on the latch.
