High Alt voltage?

High Alt voltage?
HI all. I recently swapped my 5.4 in my 99 F150. Last night the battery light came on. The gage indicates everything is normal. This morning I checked the battery at 12.5 volts. when running the alt is putting out 14.6 volts. Isnt that a little high? Could a high alt output turn on the battery light?

My 5.4 99 Expedition has read between 14.4v and 14.6v while running since I have had it the past 5 years. I would say it is not a problem. How old is your battery? I would check all the connections from the battery just to make sure they are all secure since the light came on. Could easily be an engine ground coming loose since you recently did an engine swap.
