Ford AIS filter?
Ford AIS filter?
Well, I was at the Salvage yard buying a new spare tire gearbox cable thingy and noticed they had a AIS intake with filter for 75 bucks. I thought that was high, but I returned some items and they only give credit for other parts. I installed it and no problems, I did have to cut the original battery box to make the AIS work, again no problem. The filter looks fine and I blew it out with air and then used a shop vac to get it as clean as I could. Should I buy another filter? or is it OK to clean these out and reuse?
Is there a gauge on there that indicates when the filter is clogged? If so and a cleaning works, I'd do it. But I have found that cleaning the old air filter is usually just a temporary fix so if you have that gauge keep an eye on it, if not get a new one when you get a chance.
Yes, it has a gauge, will do. The filter was pretty clean, no bugs, or road grim or large stuff(bees, etc), just some fine dirt.
Anyway today is flush coolant system and install new Radiator and transcooler. Also installing coolant filter. The previous owner just installed a new water pump, but used the Green coolant.
