AOD Trans question

AOD Trans question
I have an 83 F100 flareside with a 302 and AOD trans. The trans has been freshly rebuilt . In the morning when all is cold, it shifts great. Once it warms up in a mile or two, it shifts from 1st to second harder than normal. All other gears shift as desired. When coming to a stop it shifts down as normal for all gear including second. I have used the correct fluid and all else seems great. Any thoughts? Is there an additive I should use?

Was this trans swapped in or is it original? What type of throttle control does the trans have, a cable or a metal rod?
Who rebuilt the tranny? You could certainly take it back to them? Sounds like it could be a minor adjustment on the throttle linkage. You could certainly burn it up if it's adjusted wrong.

It was a swap. The company was out of Florida and I am in the southwest, so expensive to return. It does have the kickdown rod and I have adjusted it properly. I can give that one more look, but when we installed it was within tolerance at .4 inches and less than 5psi at idle.
