I've noticed that my 2013 STX F150 4x4 5.0L shifts quite hard from 1st to 2nd. This clears up when I pull the battery cable for 30 minutes but comes back in about 2 weeks.

Is this a pretty normal thing?
Hi Casey_78,
Since this keeps coming back, I'd recommend a trip to your dealership for diagnosis. What's the current mileage on your truck?
I've already scheduled something with my local dealership. I will be taking it in next week. I believe the mileage is about 42k
I'm glad to hear that your dealer will be taking a look soon, Casey_78. Come back and tell us how the appointment goes; I'll be here if you need me to step in and help.
To clarify, the shift was from 1st to 2nd. I miss typed.
Dealer says nothing is wrong. Couldn't reproduce it. Out the cash and no answer. They said they've never heard of that kind of issue. I don't know what tests they ran, but they said it took under an hour and charged me for it. To be expected I guess.
To be honest, I'm not too convinced this dealer did the work. 3,000 miles ago I went in for an oil change asking them to look at my brakes and a leak in my rear diff. They said everything was fine. I called them up the next day saying the rear diff was leaving puddles. Take it back in a week later, this time the seal was screwed up and they replaced it under warranty. Still said the brakes were fine. Took the brakes off myself and found 2 bad rotors and one bad caliper they missed.
I work on trucks plenty and have rebuilt a couple fords but this thing is out of my specialty. Too many fancy computer parts these days.

Thanks for coming back with an update, Casey_78. I'd like to get your shifting concern pushed up the chain to the customer service manager (CSM) for your region. To make that happen, send a PM my way with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. I'll do the rest.
I have a 2013 F150 5.0 4x4 and was experiencing harsh low end shifts and it was fixed with a TCM software update by the dealer.
I would have asked to meet with the service foreman or manager. Some techs are good and others not so much.
Funny you say that because I've found several TSBs refering to that exact fix for this issue. I find it especially funny that the service tech said no TSBs existed for this issue.
