360 FE upgrades
Forgive me if there is a similar post out there but, I just bought my first classic truck. I found a 1976 F-250 4x4 with 865XX original miles. The truck came with a LP conversion kit that I wont be using. I am planning on replacing the plugs with some new Autolites at the minimum but I have read that other ignition upgrades can help this old truck run a little better. What is the best bang for the buck (no 390 upgrades yet)? Can I upgrade the coil alone for better performance, change out the distributor for something else, etc... As always I am looking for a big help for a little $$$.

A 390 has the same bore as your 360 (4.05"), just the crank has a longer throw (3.5" vs 3.784"). If you really want to give it some umph, you could build a stroker 445 FE based on any 4.05" block.
