I have a trouble code of 446 and can't find the wiring for the solenoid valve at the canister. I think I should have constant 12 volts and the computer is regulating the ground. but I don't see the constant 12 volts. I don't have a wiring diagram so don't know where it is supposed to come from.
May not be any help to you - but I've placed the relevant pages from my 2004 F150 wiring diagram on my server temporarily. You should be able to download or print it out from here: www.devoll.com/Public/f150-wiring-Engine-Performance-wiring-pgs1-to-6-of-6.pdf Have no idea what differences there would be with an '08.
But It looks like, on page 1 of 6, that there is a Fuse (32) (15A) in the fuse box at tha "A" Pillar kick panel that provides the 12 volts to the Solenoid that you're looking for. Don't know if you can trust the wire color (Red/Yel) or not. Perhaps this will help.
Thank you very much. Found an open at the connector on the frame under the drivers door. Someone had probed the wire and it corroded off. I could cuss them but am just glad to have found the web site and help. Mangelsen22
