Planning on finishing the deal on wifes Platinum tomorrow. I get X Plan with the company I work for. The MSRP is 58,715. Without X Plan and all rebates added the price is $52,718. We are going to use the 0% financing which negates a $1500 rebate. Making the truck $54,218 plus a $300 documentation fee then minus a $500 Farm Bureau discount. The X plan price is $54,276 with no doc fee and no other usable rebates. So the X Plan the way they tell me doesn't get me squat. Can anyone confirm is this sounds correct?
Looks like x plan is -4000 or so in cash then minus rebates, a-plan would be almost 6000 and then minus rebates, makes more of a difference the more expensive the vehicle. So with either a or x plan you start with a lower initial price and the subtract rebates as they apply, you may have to shop dealers to see what rebates they will allow you. These are not exact numbers, just past experience, it was always a plan -minus rebates plus tax and whatever extended warranty cost.

Rebates should have nothing to do with dealers. You are eligible for the rebates based on the zip code you register in, not what dealer it is. X-Plan may make some some rebates no longer work, but generally that is more an issue with ADZ plans. X-plan does cap the doc fee everywhere at $75, unless your state has a lower limit. They can not offer other services/gifts over $50 to entice you for the sale.
0% often clears ALL other rebates, but this would be the same with or without X plan.
As said above, they should show you an invoice that lists X plan price. If they want to sell it less they can. X Plan is still a very good price but its unlikely to be the absolute best. It does keep alot of the predatory fees and stuff at bay that for many folks turn a really amazing price into just an okay deal. IMO X plan is a good way to make sure you're getting a better than average deal that you will never have to be worried about, but with more information out there and more buying services I think Ford will have to make some adjustments to keep the program relevant. Still, many folks on here would be shocked to sell cars for a month to see how many people don't even do basic online price research. This is good for you though because we do need to make a decent living, as I can go fishing if I wanted to work for free. When I worked retail, I couldn't live if all my deals were "minis" ($100 min commission), but I would much rather an easy mini deal so I could move on to someone I could get a few hundred buck from. If EVERYONE was a mini it would actually end up being a pretty horrible experience for customers (more than you may find it now). If you disagree, I hear Scion may be a brand for you to shop with.
A Scion would not make if down the road to get to my farm!
You'd be surprised where I take my Fiesta! My little baby Ford carries more chicken feed than the one guy I work with ever hauls in his Toyota "truck" though so maybe its a difference between Ford and Toyota =-D
