Here I am a newbie and my first post, so don't be too impatient with me. Bought a "used" 78 Ranger XLT. Previous owner had done some mods that I am unsure of. Is there any way I can tell if the transfer case has been changed from full to part time easily? Would that include gears replacing the chain? There are lock/unlock on the hubs and is that all that has to be done to change the full time? Thanks in advance for being patient. My first 4x4.....
I guess locking hubs and drive shafts that mate is the deal for conversion? Mixed up between the 203 and 5.... Eliminating the chain drive is what the 205 did? Gear oil for the 5's and 30w for the 3's to sling lube the chain? Am working my way from the rear to front. Trans and motor next. Front end is a bit more involved from what I see. Thx willz74
