Just my humble opinion of course.

I don't change my filters but once a year and of course this time I skipped a year because I traded in... Sorry I forgot what the difference filters look like. I thought the top picture was of a couple of upper fuel filters...

There is always next time - as you pointed out.

I agree. My other truck is due in 5k I think so I'll do it then and then post it.
Don't apoligize, no big deal at all.

Actually, we do have pretty good fuel in Texas, but I also frequent one of three relatively new stations for all of my fueling. Between decent fuel and the Dieselsite filters, I have no problem going for the factory recommended change interval, but since my filter minder never went off, I got tired of waiting and just did it (still a little late by mileage). I'm not sure if it had been previously reset at some point and therefore screwed up the mileage it was looking for.

Dahl brand fuel filter is a 2 micron particle separator, this used on the DIESELSITE 2011-2015 Ford 6.7L Fuel Filter / Water Separator.

Ford’s low-pressure fuel pump filter is a 10-micron primary fuel filter and the secondary fuel filter is a 4-micron cartridge style filter

I would assume that the pre filters would be dirtier than the 10-micron and then to the 4-Micron filters.

I changed he factory installed Ford filters on 6/23/13 with 10k on the motor. I installed the Dieselsite fuel filter system at this time. I know have 25k and its 09/20/15. I will check ad post pictures of the filters. I will crack the 4 micro filter case and see what it looks like on the inside too.

From everything I can see they look clean.

My wonderful dealer told me to wait until 20k, I have 17k so I'm going to do them this week!

Mine will probably be filthy after seeing those, if they are I'll post up picks.

New filters:

Spare Bowl if needed: (Not Needed)

Old Main Filter from Bowl:

Old Filter From Up Bowl:

Old Dahl Filters:

After Fuel Filter Change I get this:

The filters looked fine and all were clean. There was no residue/film in any of the bowls.

What a bummer.

Checked all fuses. Nothing wrong. Checked Diode fuse for fuel pump it =s fine.

Called Ford to come pick it up.

This may be a silly question, but did you allow enough purge cycles after changing out ALL of those filters? That is a lot of air to purge when you include the Dieselsite filters too - a lot more than when just doing the Ford filters. I guess the next dumb question, are any of the housings leaking air in? I know on the frame mounted one, you have to turn until you hit the stop, and on the Dieselsite ones, you go until good and snug, but a goofy O-Ring could cause issues. I think if it was the engine mounted one leaking anything, it would be fuel, so that one should be obvious. Hope it is an easy and inexpensive fix for you!

No leaking fuel.

I reset all the connects, but disconnecting and then reconnecting the connections.

Pulled the out inlet from the filter on the top and the advanced the key with fuel pouring out. Re-pressurized the line to no avail.

Yes, I cycled it eight times before trying to start the vehicle the first time.

Frame mounted one, you have to turn until you hit the stop (Yes)

Dieselsite ones, you go until good and snug (yes), but a goofy O-Ring could cause issues (Checked those too)

Only other thing I could suggest is try priming more. I prime until I stop hearing air in the return line at the tank, and that is more like 8 times when just changing the Ford Filters. I added 6 more when doing the Dieselsite filters. Strange that it was fine before, but problems after.

Yep, ran fine before. In fact I primed and crank until the batteries almost died.

I really hope it is something simple being overlooked, but I am out of ideas. Good luck to you.

Had the same problem

I had a rolled oring on my ford lower fuel filter. I had to replace the new oring with another new oring. No fuel leak, just enough to suck air.

Also by-pass the after market filter as a test.

Just turned over 30500 miles. I change the fuel & air filters every 15000 miles.
These have 15000 miles in them.
