1948 F-6 Brake hi/Lo device?
I had on my steering wheel post a lever that says Hi/Lo?
I believe it must have been for some kind of brake change for pulling a trailer?
I want to remove it, while I'm rewiring the truck. The line for it taps into the brake line.
Is there anything special that I need to understand about this? Can I just remove it? What is the best way to remove it?
Thanx.

The "Hi-Lo" device permits the manual (lever) or automatic (foot brake) operation of trailer electric brakes. This is an old system which has since been replaced by electronic controllers many years ago. I would remove it altogether and set it aside. You can replace the tee where it taps into the brake line with a double female coupler designed for brake service.
Ok, you do not have any kind of air brakes on this truck. F-8 only for that year.
