Trailer plates
Hi Guys, I don't know about your state, but mine, Michigan, is having budget trouble. They have decieded to raise some new $ by dramaticaly raising the fee charged for lots of driver related things. trailer plates are going to rise in price, ( 300$ for some !) but the new plate is supposed to not expire. So how will they raise extra cash next year ? For those old enough to remember, driver licenses didn't use to expire either. I never put a plate on my trailers, Michigan motor vehicle code says trailers under 2500# are exempt, I used to carry around a copy of the law in case a cop hassled me about no plates. Don't know whether that 2500# thing still applies or not...I'll have to check. But trailer plates is something you may want to keep an eye on. DF

California license fees are tripling in October. They did this with a "trick" that did not require a vote of the legislature. Just one of the many reasons "Greyout Dufus" is not going to be Governor much longer.
Trailers of all sizes have had to have a plate as long as I can remember. I think Oregon still does not require small trailers to have one.
