Hey guys, I am new to this forum. I have had my 6.9 idi for about 8 months now. Over the summer I had to have my selector valve replaced and then as I was driving back to school, I learned that my "new valve" wasn't actually working. Problem is it keeps blowing the fuse. Just took it to the shop, since I don't have much time while in school, and they hooked a new pump up and it didn't blow the fuse, but the valve did not switch. Has anyone ever had that problem? The guy that installed the new valve said he checked the switch and it was good. Is there a relay that could be fried and won't let it switch?
Thanks in advance!
What "new pump" did they hook up? There is no pump in the wiring system of the fuel selector valve.
Heck there isn't an electric pump on ANY stock IDI powered vehicle!
That aside, no reason to blow a fuse unless there is a short in that wiring system, or the valve is bad out of the box.
I'm not sure of all the details but I don't believe there is a relay for that valve. Not many relays on our pickups.
