is there a grease fitting on the slip yoke somewhere.. i was not able to see or feel one.
that the one behind the center bearing with the black rubber compressible thing on it right.
how do you take it apart.. remove the center bearing and drop it down so it comes apart, grease the splines with a hand full of grease in a gloved hand?
is it possible to put a grease fitting on the yoke section..??

You have to drop the rear of the shaft to grease. It is keyed to go back on one way as well. This is for an ext cab, youR truck might be configured differently. You want to just lube it lightly, took much grease can cause an issue as well. I have had to get mine replaced due to wear. Gets expensive. Every time I take a driveshaft to the shop its $300 it seems.
We've been in a place with no internet or cell service the past couple days, but I did check the u-joints again yesterday before we left and did detect a very slight amount of play in the back one. I layed my finger across both yokes and was able to detect it, couldn't see it though. As for removing it that will have to wait till we return home, about a four 1/2 hour drive from here.
Thanks all, later, Bill
Mark K. hit it again, I removed the rear driveshaft this morning and found the rearmost u-joint was bad. replaced it and problems solved. Slip-yoke was ok but I put more grease on it anyway. Thanks all.. Later, Bill
Yes the two cups under the retainers that you unbolt were ok, the other two that had to be pressed out of the yoke were froze, one had rusty powder in it instead of bearings, lol the other was just froze up.
