Im working on a 2005 f250
2wd 5.4 3v truck.
I installed a long block jasper and having problems with the temp gauge, for some weird reason it keeps climbing to the red mark and keeps beeping and the display says check gauges. I was not having problems with the old engine.
The engine is not running hot for a fact, what do you guys think it is.
I have two codes p1285 & p1299 i know there was a tsb on this but like mention earlier, the old engine never had this problem.
Help apreciated
sensor,, wrong, defective, air pocket in system... damaged wires.
How do you KNOW the engine is NOT overheating?... or has HOT spots...???
you using an Infrared thermometer???
Yes sir i used an Ifrared, but i think i found my problem. Apparently when ever i installed the intake manifold a crushed the CHT wires and, exposed wires were touching the cyl head grounding them. Thanks for the responses gents.
