get rid of bendix box to install sanderson headers

The steering column will likely need to be modified since the Bendix box is short and wide; whereas, if you go with the Ford or Saginaw box it's narrow and longer. Pic is from the Fordification.com forum.
Swapped the Bendix for a Ford power steering box. My 65 has the 4 speed so it was not necessary to shorten the steering column. I did have to make slight modification at the firewall, and shorten the steering shaft.
Another option possibly going with a later model column?
I do not know if there's any alternative for swapping out the Bendix for a similar/same size manual or p/s box? Finally, there's aftermarket 'measure to fit' steering columns.
If decide to go with the Ford box suggest check out the 'how to' article in the Fordification.com 67-72 forum?
