1996-2000 4.0 engine
i am looking at a 2000 ranger with motor problems. it is thought to be the timing chain. I have available a 1996 ranger wih an excellent motor. would this be an easy swap?

The 2000 Ranger 4.0L was still a push rod engine. The OHC 4.0L came to the Ranger in 01.
I don't know if all the outside accessories & sensors between the 96 & 2000 engines were the same or not??? The 96 was OB-2 like the 2000, so maybe not to much external change, but I'm just not sure.
