Yes the square ones are better if you tow anything, looks wise not so much if you don't have to tow a trailer very often I'd keep what you've got, they "fit" that body style much better IMHO

I agree with cj45lc, if you are towing they are worth it all day long. But I am still on the fence on how they look on the 99-07 body style. I like the look but not 100% sold on it.

That's why I opted to go for the 07 style on my truck, just having a hard time with how they look. On the other hand the 08 up have the best visibility in any truck I have ever been in.

I agree. Even though they have better visibility I feel they look terrible on the 99-04 body style. I opted to save a couple hundred bucks and go with the 6.0L style with all the extras.

ok, well let me toss this out for the discussion, if they look bad on the 99-03 body style, what about the excursion? I see the excursion with the same style body as the 99-03 (different grill and head lamps) and it has the square style mirrors, and it seems to look good, oh and I will also add I am wanting to change my trucks grill to the Excursion grill with the square/mesh look as well, and have clear corners and turn signals as well...

Is the wiring diagram basically the function of the switch? Meaning is the ten minute timer built into it? Is there more to it than this? Mine is a 1999 XLT with power mirros but not power fold or heat so I would have to run additional wires to get the heat, fold, telescope, and turn signal/marker lights to work?

The Heat will require a dedicated circuit from the switch to the doors.

The Fold you could use an existing hot wire in the door. However, you will have to use the OEM Switch.

Other than that, it's pretty straight forward.

The entire issue of looks and functionality lye's with the operator and not the observer.

Functionality, appearance, operation and affordability are all the Operator's.
