what axel is this

If it's all stock it's probly a D-44.
I'm guessing that it's 3.50:1 gear ratio w/ Limited slip.

I may be wrong. Someyone will probly know for sure.
Good luck.

Dana 44 front, Ford 9" rear. Stock ratio is 3.55 (technically 3.50 front and 3.55 rear IIRC) There were optional gears around 4.10 for a towing package, but I've never talked with anyone who had them.

You shouldn't have limited slip in the front. AFAIK, Ford never used them in front, only in the rear.

The "3.50" says that the front ratio is 3.50, and the 9" offered the same ratio in the rear end. For 3.55 rears, the front ratio is 3.54.

If it was limited slip, the ratio would be "3L50".
