SCT programmer - EGR Delete tune question

Playing with the SCT ....

Can I run an EGR delete tune without having done the EGR delete yet?

Edit: Do I unplug the EGR valve or is this a no no?

Yes, just turn it off and it won't function. However the EGR Cooler can still rupture and cause issues.

Essentially if it ain't there it can't leak.

It helps control the fan speed, leave it plugged in.

Not looking to add any power just yet, only playing with some of the tranny tunes & options. I've got a lot to get done on her before adding power....

just thinking out loud here, but could the build up of exhaust gases behind a constantly closed EGR valve prematurely rupture the cooler?
