Hope I'm in the right spot... Today I started to install my satellite radio in the 250. I ran the antenna through the roof where the 3rd brake light is. The lights were not working so I thought I'd just replace them while it was off the truck. To my surprise the bulbs the guy had installed must have been too big because the wires, sockets and the housing were melted and not really useable.
With that said...
I can't seem to find a web site that would have an aftermarket setup that would
fit the roof of a F250. LMC truck has an exact match to replace it but they want $247.00 for it. I want to fix my truck but I'm not after restoration parts nor do I want a 100 point truck.
Can anyone give me a good place to get F250 stuff at a good price?
Thanks!!
I'd totally go for either a junkyard or a 'used part place' [where they have a bunch of used vehicles and they pull the part you want]. The part will be just fine, and should be really cheap.
I found one! An old farm truck that was rusting away. 3rd light housing was still usable. Needed to be rewired though the sockets were melted on this one too. FYI...I used 69 Camaro side marker sockets. They fit and work like factory sockets. The best part was the housing was FREE!
Thanks for the suggestions.
