transmission problems , won`t shift

transmission problems , won`t shift
Hello fellows!
I hope that some of you can help me with an tranny issue.
I have just changed tranny on my -89 150 V8 gas truck 4x4
all electrical lines are reconected etc etc, all was just bolt on job.
after start up, I just got the reverse and 1st gear. it wont swop to 2nd and 3rd.
I know this is electrical driven by the front wheel tranny, I think it is the torque meter who telles the system when to shift..
have anyone of you experienced this problem or similuar?
