Good job on the door. I hate to tell you but that rust will be back before you know it. Mine were so bad that I could put my hand on the inside of the door through the bottom. Before i started messing with them they looked like yours. The dealer I bought my truck from had a very good "hacker" body man. Anyway, you need to treat the rust on the inside of the door between the two panels too.

Got to my grill today, i bought one off ebay from automodzone, and i have to say im very pleased with the quality of the grill, its stout.

The billet insert fastens to the fiberglass core support which the grill mounts to.

I used my ryobi rotory cut tool to cut the grill out.

Finished product.

Cant decide if i should remount the ford emblem on the billet grill or not, what do you think? I think if i put a ford emblem on it i shoukd find a bigger one.

Had a couple other ideas on the grill. Wondering how it might look if i painted the original chrome thats left to a satin black??? Maybe i will plasti dip it to test it since i can always peel it off later, ill throw some pics up if/when i do.

Also, im thinkin it might look cool to put some raptor FORD lettering on the grill....maybe.

Oh sweet baby jesus I cant stand the headlights...that is a contribution of the PO of the truck, I tried to get the paint off but all I will do is make em look worse than they already do, he also spray painted the 3rd brake light black smh...... New head, tail and 3rd brake lights are on the to do list.

Well after a day of driving around, and looking at the truck I started thinking it may be too much chrome up front, so I took it back down and Plasti Dipped the billet. I figure I would go with plasti dip first and if I didnt like it I could peel it back off..... I think I like the grill black better, what do you guys think???

Makes you think, what the hell do people think sometimes. Regards to the black painted lights.

Agreed, like the black.

I'd leave the billet chrome and paint the chrome plastic and bumper black. That's just me though

I thought about that, really did, i have a crack dead center of the top of my original grill, but i hit it from the inside with my plastic welder today and it came out really good, can barely tell from the outside unless you know its there. So i think im going to stick with this look for now. I also think with the grill being black a ford logo placed in the center will look alot better.

Im also still debating on raptor like large lettering on the grill, even if i make it myself.

On the headlights, ya, sheesh, i dunno what the PO was thinking, they look even worse at night lol. I really want the halo projector lights, but im torn. The spyder brands i like because they have cfl halos which imo look better than led halos. But the recons seem better quality but only have led halos available.

The ole to do list is long on this truck, but im chipping away at it. I had this grill setting in my garage for over a month now.

Tires is a soon to be purchased item, but i havent yet decided what i want. Seems like every time i find a tire i like i read reviews that are great, then find negative reviews from 7.3 superduty owners. I loved duratracs on my wrangler, but the 2 ply sides turn me off for this truck. I like the general grabber red letters, but everyone says they are so heavy it noticeably effects mpg. I really want the bfg all terrain t/a KO , but i read more than one review about having catastrophic blowouts on superduties.
