69 Ford F-250 electrical issue

Please help. I replaced the battery, battery cables, starter solenoid and starter.
Hook up wires and nothing happened. I started taking things apart and noticed the one of the wires in the dash harness had burned up. Do not know where that wire went to. There is 2 wires to the pin of the pink resistor wire. Off that second wire it was split, of of them burned up. I don't know where that wire went so I just fixed the harness without that wire. Put the harness in and nothing happens when I plugged everything in and turn the key. The only thing that works is the headlights and the wipers. I bought the truck with the burnt wire problem but not I don't know what to do!!! Please help me.. Contact me...

Do you know how to use a multimeter? Not being insulting, just figuring out where to start the conversation.

It seems you are not getting B+ to the Starter Relay from the ignition switch.

That split you speak of is (I believe) the connector labeled "D".
It is number 016A and is the power to the Starter relay from the ignition switch. (262) (It is Not a solenoid FYI)
You will see that on that line is a resistor. It would seem that resistor burn't out. (The wire)

From here you need a Volt Meter and know how to use it.

I would connect the volt meter to a known good ground and the other end to that wire. Set the Volt Meter to VDC.
While looking at the meter, Turn the switch to the "START" position and see if the voltage is there.

If it is you have found the problem.

Re connect the wire and try it.

The resistor is for the "RUN" position. The non resistor side is for the Start" side so the system delivers full B+ to the coil for faster starts.

When you let go of the start position the voltage it reduces slightly through the resistor to increase the life of the electronics. (Maybe 10 volts?)

This one will be VERY hard for us to help you with.

I'm not sure the resistors value here for replacement. You could ask a parts guy and maybe get a performance unit to replace it with.

As long as it didn't fry the entire wiring loom, you should be ok.

I could be wrong here. Anyone care to elaborate?

In that wiring diagram some one posted here (thank you) i think it was wire 932 it had a factory split in it. The pink resistor wire and 932 was crimped into a pin from the starter plug. Then 932 split, one went to the right hand fender harness which is still good but where did the other wire go? By that diagram, it goes to the carb throttle solenoid. What's that?
I really want to thank everyone for there responses. Thank you ford fans!

The pink wire has continuity through it. So it not burned up.

Wire 37 off of the starter relay in the diagram is not the same on my truck. That wire come from the voltage regulator to the same plug in the diagram. Does that make a difference?
I tested the wires off the starter relay, the 2 small wire, and tested ok thru the yellow plug going through the firewall.
