Need some help. Rebuilt my Holley carb . When it was rebuilt it was dipped into a cleaning solution. When I put it on the truck, couldn't get it started. Turned out the jet port from the accelerator pump was clogged. Got it cleaned out,and it ran great. Now the accelerator pump hangs up, I can manually push on the accelerator pump linkage and it works. Then a couple days go by and the same thing happens again. The only addition to the rebuild was the Percy's adjust a jet
I would check the little ball down in behind the diaphragm of the pump. The one behind the metal bar. Take it out and make sure there is no dirt under the ball and then re-install it and check the clearance of the ball, there is a spec.
If it's not a mechanical problem with the accel pump arm and linkage, then the ball could possibly be getting stuck. That ball is the one that lets the fuel in from the fuel bowl. If you push the pump and it squirts all the fuel out into the squirters, it's not going to come back if fuel can't get in around the ball.
