Dealer or owner installed. Very period correct, although they've been making them for 50 years, so it may not even be from the 50's. NAPA still sells them under the TruckLite brand. NAPA AUTO PARTS -- TRUCKLITE 903
PS the indicator arrows are in the speedo of your 52, if you can figure a way to use them.
Ross that's kind of strange to have indicated lights in the dash but no stock light system. I suppose it was an added cost, like the heater, that many frugal buyers opted not to go with but later someone decided they needed or wanted them aftrerall.

When I added the turn signals to my truck, I had just the little indicators on the device to show the signals working. I later installed bulbs in the empty spots in the speedo so they would flash when the blinker was working. I was lucky to get the original dash bulb housings from Ilya.
AFAIK the arrows are there and have green lenses, but they don't have the "tubes" to direct the light from a back-mounted bulb to the arrows. I'd guess Ford decided not to provide TS's after they ordered the speedos?

Joe, does yours have the tubes?
Well I really don't know about the tubes. I plugged the light sockets in and they flash green so I just assumed everything needed was there. They don't interfere with the dash lights, or vice versa, so there must be tubes in the speedo.
I agree on that switch being "period correct." This one on my truck was taken from a '52 F8 I found years ago in a local wrecking yard. The flasher unit is mounted under the starter button. Maybe those were common at the time, but I've never seen any others like it. - Bob
Decided to remove, disassemble and clean up the switch if it looked usable. It was pretty crunchy feeling and the bulb and lens is missing from the stalk.
I gave it a baking soda rinse, let it dry and then shot some silicone on it to protect it from corrosion. Re-taped the wires and put it back together. Found a bulb and new bulb cover on line for it.
